I'm not sure how far ahead you are in your planning for 2025, but next academic year is a big one for VA teachers, the first course change since 2015 due to Covid messing things up in many ways. So, yes, some significant changes coming which you will have to be ready for; I hope to be able to offer PD support later in this academic year for the new course, so let me know if you would be interested. I will go deeper into this at a later date. If you dot have the subject brief yet go to this page where you can download the subject brief as well as read all the updates.

Interestingly catgegorised under Humanities (?), this site is comprehensive and well laid out. As with all things web, you should look at a few and see how it suits your way of searching for information, practical use for presentatio, idealogical bias etc but this is one of the behemoths of the online academies.

Art 21 is a great resource for teachers to use with older students, most likely DP age because o the maturity of the content. What's unique about it is that you can find artists by theme, medium and narrtive. There are tons of videos of the artist speaking directly to camera about their work, why and how they made it and a lot of discussion of process.

One of the most wonderfully gratifying things I have realised about not being full time in a school is that I can now do what teachers always want to do. Gather resources and share them. Tamara Michael is a new discovery for me, all about doodling and mental health. Flippin fantastic.

I have recommended this chap's youTube site to students too; he doesn't really have any right to be this smart, this informed, this young and this good at communicating meaning. But there you go, and here we are. Long Live Nerdwriter!

I have had a few students go on to RISD over the years and have always had a very good impression of their approch to recruiting; as a school they completely understand and value IBDP Visual Art students, they totally get it. So, in their own words: "Art Prof is a global community for learning visual arts. We believe art education is for everyone, and that’s why our content is 100% free for you. Started by former Rhode Island School of Design adjunct professor Clara Lieu, Art Prof is a team of Teaching Artists with diverse backgrounds. Our tutorials provide practical, accessible techniques in drawing, digital media, painting, printmaking, 3D art, animation, and more. We produce up to date, comprehensive professional development resources for students, teachers, and independent artists." https://artprof.org/.

Wide ranging site that focuses on lesson plans and tehnique. Looks to be a good Middle School, stand alone resource to dip into. Subcscription based but there is a free level.
